PVC roof tile refers to a type of roofing material that uses polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin as its main raw material. It is made by scientifically proportioning and adding UV-resistant agents and other chemical raw materials, and then processing them through advanced technology.
The following is a detailed introduction:
  • Production process: It is formed by high-temperature plasticization, extrusion to the required thickness, and then cooling and shaping. Some high-quality PVC roof tiles adopt a multi-layer co-extrusion technology, which usually includes a weather-resistant layer, a reinforcing layer, and a bottom layer.
  • Performance characteristics
  • Lightweight and high-strength: For example, a 2mm-thick PVC roof tile weighs only 4 kilograms per square meter, which is less than one-tenth of that of a concrete slab, but it can bear a snow load of more than 150 kilograms per square meter.
  • Excellent corrosion resistance: It can maintain more than 90% of its surface performance after five years in a corrosive environment with a pH value of 3-11, which is much better than ordinary color steel tiles.
  • Good fire resistance: The flame retardant grade of high-quality PVC roof tiles can reach B1 level. They will not help combustion when exposed to fire, and the toxicity of the smoke generated during combustion is relatively low.
  • Good weather resistance: By adding anti-ultraviolet components and weather-resistant additives, high-quality products can pass more than 1000 hours of accelerated aging tests, which is equivalent to a service life of 15-20 years in a natural environment.
  • Good heat insulation performance: Its thermal conductivity is only 1/30 of that of color steel tiles, which can reduce the indoor temperature of the factory by 5-8°C in summer and reduce energy consumption costs.
  • Convenient installation: It adopts a large-size design, and the installation efficiency is 40% higher than that of traditional tiles, which can shorten the construction period.
  • Product types: There are mainly PVC trapezoidal tiles, which are mainly used for herringbone roofs and are connected and covered with ridge tiles in the middle of the roof; and PVC corrugated tiles, which are the best materials for building arched greenhouses and will not deform when building large-span roofs.
  • Application fields: It is widely used in high-end factories, steel structure factories, warehouses, farm produce markets, carports and other places, especially in corrosive factories such as chemical plants, smelters, and ceramic factories.
